Mothers who are Kpopers may be looking forward to the latest visa that will be launched by the South Korean government. This visa is known as the Hallyu visa, which is a new visa specifically for fans of South Korean culture.
This latest visa, also known as the K-culture training visa, will allow non-Korean citizens to enroll at a local performing arts academy to stay in the country for two years.
Launching from the CNN Indonesia page, Hallyu or Korean Wave is a term for South Korea’s global popularity through the spread of K-Pop culture through music, films and other artistic media.

With the increasing development of Hallyu, South Korea plans to improve and expand its tourism industry by introducing Hallyu visas for K-Pop fans who want to learn more and get closer to the culture of the Ginseng Country.
According to the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, one of the main drivers of K-culture for future generations is art. This year, the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is ready to launch the K Tourism Road Show in various countries such as Sweden and the United States.
Meanwhile, the specific requirements for having this visa have not been disclosed, but details are expected to be available in the second half of 2024. From a tourism perspective, cultivating the loyalty of K-Pop and K-drama fans is financially beneficial.
After being hit hard by Covid-19, Korea’s tourism industry has bounced back and become a significant economic driver.
The latest report from the Korea World Travel & Tourism Council, estimates that the country’s tourism sector will grow by an average of 4.8 percent per year until 2032, far exceeding the projected overall national economic growth rate of 1.8 percent.
Based on a report released last October by the South Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism, K-Pop has become the most common reason used by foreign tourists to visit South Korea.
