JAKARTA – Prospective naturalized player for the Indonesian National Team (Timnas), Jay Idzes, will undergo the process of taking the oath as an Indonesian citizen (WNI), Thursday (28/12/2023) morning WIB. Idzes said he was very enthusiastic about welcoming the oath-taking day.
The Veneza player arrived in Indonesia, Wednesday (27/12/2023) afternoon WIB. Upon arrival in Indonesia, Idzes admitted that he couldn’t wait for the oath-taking day. The 23 year old player admitted that he was relieved because his naturalization process would soon be completed.
“I am very happy and enthusiastic about welcoming tomorrow,” said Idzes when he arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, quoted on the official PSSI website, Wednesday (27/12/2023).
“Finally I was able to complete all the processes. Yes, I can’t wait.” he continued.
According to a letter circulating, the schedule for taking the oath of Indonesian citizens will take place at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) DKI Jakarta, Thursday (28/12) at 08.00 WIB. Idzes are required to attend wearing a complete black suit, red tie and skullcap.
Idzes’ naturalization process was actually approved in the DPR Plenary session together with Nathan Tjoe-A-On. However, Nathan will not be sworn in as an Indonesian citizen tomorrow like Idzes.
As is known, in September 2023, the player whose full name is Jay Noah Idzes met with PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir. The meeting was also an announcement that he was a naturalized candidate for the Indonesian National Team.
Idzes’ naturalization process was short. At the beginning of December, Commissions III and X of the DPR RI approved their naturalization applications. A day later the DPR Plenary knocked the gavel of approval.
Before Idzes, PSSI had completed the naturalization of several hereditary players. The players in question are Jordi Amat, Sandy Walsh, Shayne Pattynama, Rafael Struick, Ivar Jenner and Justin Hubner.
