Covid-19 still haunts almost the entire world, including Indonesia. Not long ago, cases of subvariants called EG.5 and EG.2, also known as Eris, were known to have increased.
This is known directly from data on the increase in Covid-19 cases last November. This data recorded that 58.9 percent of subvariant cases were found in Indonesia.
Eris isn’t actually a new subvariant. This subvariant was discovered in early 2023. Eris is a derivative of the Omicron variant. Until now, Omicron still dominates cases of Covid-19 transmission in the world.

Symptoms Covid-19 Subvarian EG.5
Cases of Covid-19 subvariant EG.5 which are currently increasing in Indonesia are certainly causing concern. For this reason, mothers need to prevent transmission by recognizing several symptoms that appear.
Quoting from the CNN Indonesia page, the symptoms of EG.5 are basically not yet known with certainty. However, mutations generally make the symptoms appear milder. The symptoms of this subvariant are generally not much different from the previous Covid-19 subvariants.
To prevent transmission of the virus, here are some symptoms that you can recognize:
1. Sore Throat
Covid-19 most often attacks the respiratory tract, one of which is the throat. Many Covid-19 patients caused by the EG.5 subvariant complain of this problem. Not a few of them have difficulty swallowing food.
2. Cough
Cough is also the most common symptom that most Covid-19 patients may experience, including those exposed to the EG.5 subvariant.
This symptom is actually a reaction that arises from the body when the immune system tries to fight the virus that enters and removes it from the body.
3. Colds
People infected with the EG.5 virus also experience colds. When this happens, more fluid will come out of the nose. Not a small amount of this fluid buildup causes the nose to become blocked.
