Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Western allies to increase production of defense equipment to ensure that Ukrainian troops have what they need to fight a Russian invasion.
Speaking ahead of a meeting with NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, Kuleba said there was “no reason to believe that the West does not have the political will” to increase its production capacity, but there was a lot of technical work to be done to meet the target.
Kuleba said it was not just Ukraine’s security that was at stake in the war there, but also the security and safety of the entire EuroAtlantic region. He also said “nothing will stop us” as Ukraine remains focused on the goal of ensuring its territorial integrity.
“We have to continue. We have to keep fighting,” said Kuleba. “Ukraine will not back down.”
Ukraine’s military said Wednesday that Russia launched 21 drones and three missiles in a wave of attacks overnight.
Ukrainian air defenses shot down all of the Iranian-made Shahed drones aimed at the Khmelnitskyi region in western Ukraine, the military said. Ukrainian forces also shot down two of the three missiles, while the third missile did not reach its target. There were no reports of damage or injuries. (uh/ab)
