Suara.com – Vice presidential candidate number two, Gibran Rakabuming Raka finally spoke about Doctor Tifa’s accusations that he was only a vocational school graduate and had a fake diploma from abroad. Not only that, former Minister of Youth and Sports Roy Suryo also said that Gibran’s title often changed.
Gibran revealed the accusation, which was considered baseless, in the program “13 Years of Mata Najwa” on Sunday (19/11/2023) when the presenter, Najwa Shihab, showed a photo of her graduation in Australia.
Gibran, who is also an Australian graduate, strongly denied the accusation of a fake diploma being made against him. Gibran’s reaction to this accusation has now become a matter of public discussion.
1. Invite the media to Solo to show the degree
At the 13 Years of Mata Najwa event, Najwa also displayed Gibran’s graduation photo. Spontaneously, Gibran admitted that his graduation photo was accused of being an edited photo and that the diploma in the photo was fake.
“This photo is being disputed, sis. The problem is that the photo is said to be edited and the diploma is fake,” said Gibran.
Gibran’s statement also made Najwa and many of the event participants laugh. He also invited media crew to come to Solo City Hall so he could show his diploma.
“It’s okay, tomorrow media friends, as usual at 7 am at City Hall (Solo) I’ll bring you my diploma. Just check whether it’s real or fake,” continued Gibran.
2. Challenge the person who accused him to come directly to Singapore
Not only that, President Jokowi’s eldest son also challenged those who accused him of having a fake diploma to come directly to his school in Singapore so they could confirm the authenticity of the diploma he had.
“If you don’t believe me, I’ll order a ticket to Singapore. Go straight to the school,” said Gibran seriously. He also revealed that many parties continued to have problems with his fake diploma.
3. Ask the media to check the authenticity of the degree yourself
Gibran’s challenge of wanting to show his original diploma was actually carried out by Kaesang Pangarep’s older brother. He also took his diploma to Solo City Hall and asked the media crew present to physically check his diploma for themselves.
This diploma was issued by the University of Bradford, England in 2010, in collaboration with the Gibran campus in Singapore, MDIS.
“Yes, it’s only now that there’s a problem when I’m nominating (cawapres). That’s why I brought the diploma. Please bring it yourself as long as you don’t lose it,” said Gibran jokingly to the media crew present on Monday (20/11/2023).
4. Treat the accusation as a joke
Even though he had shown a serious reaction to the accusation of a fake diploma, Gibran admitted that he only considered the accusation as a joke.
“I didn’t think too much about it (about the fake diploma accusation). I thought it was just for fun,” said Gibran while at Solo City Hall on Monday (20/11/2023) morning.
Gibran also revealed that he wanted to show his diploma to the public so that the matter of being accused of a fake diploma would be resolved quickly.
