JAKARTA – Google Maps is needed to navigate travel to various destinations and places. Not only that, Google Maps will also display the best route to the user’s desired destination, using real-time traffic information.
Unfortunately, while traveling, the internet connection may be unstable so that the use of Google Maps may be disrupted. However, this can be overcome easily because Google Maps has an offline feature. Google Maps’ offline feature allows users to navigate freely, even if the signal doesn’t support it.
Here’s how to use Google Maps offline:
1. Plan your trip, which areas you will visit.
2. Open the Google Maps application.
3. Click your profile picture in the upper right corner.
4. Click “Offline Maps.”
5. Click “Choose Your Own Map.” A blue rectangle will appear that frames the area on the map.
6. Drag the rectangle to the area you want to visit. At the bottom of the rectangle, information about the estimated file size will appear if you download a map of the area.
7. Click “Download.”
The downloaded map will be saved in the Google Maps application. To open it, just open Google Maps, click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click “Offline Maps”. On that page, the downloaded maps section will appear containing the map files you downloaded. You just have to click on the file to use it.
