JAKARTA – The Indonesian U-17 national team is part of Group A in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. The squad made by Bima Sakti will also play group stage matches at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
Interestingly, the first match of the U-17 National Team will take place on November 10 2023 or coincide with Heroes’ Day. In their first match, Garuda Asia will compete against Ecuador at 19.00 WIB.
The U-17 National Team tactician, Bima Sakti, also welcomed this, especially since the first match was played in the City of Heroes and coincided with Heroes’ Day.
He hopes that this can be a good moment for the U-17 Indonesian National Team. Although in reality, he doesn’t mind if the Garuda Asia squad plays anywhere. “Yes, thank God, we are starting November 10, Heroes’ Day and it will be held in Surabaya too,” said Bima Sakti in Jakarta, Saturday (16/9/2023).
“So hopefully it will be a good moment for the U-17 Indonesian National Team,” he added.
Meanwhile, regarding the preparation of the U-17 Indonesian National Team players, Bima Sakti admitted that he was satisfied with their physical development and performance. However, the coach from Balikpapan reminded the players not to become complacent so that their performance could improve.
“The progress is satisfactory, but we must always continue to upgrade their condition, then their performance. The most important thing that I often say is that they understand the game plan that we have been practicing all this time,” he explained.
The Indonesian U-17 national team itself is scheduled to leave for Germany to undergo a training camp (TC) on Sunday (17/9/2023), at 14.50 WIB. Bima Sakti will later bring 28 players out of the 34 players who underwent today’s training session.
